Tours & Private Expeditions
Travel to Karahan Tepe and Göbekli Tepe with the people who know them best — either on our annual small-group expedition, or on a private tour built around your own dates and the sites you most want to see.
The Flagship
This is not a general Turkey tour. Over ten days, our small group traces a single thread — from the world's earliest known temple complexes to the imperial capitals that rose thousands of years later — with expert commentary at every stop. You'll stand inside Karahan Tepe and Göbekli Tepe, then follow the story of civilization across Anatolia, from the Neolithic through the Bronze Age.
It's led by three people who spend their lives telling this story: Pete Kelly of History Time, Kayleigh During of History With Kayleigh, and Dakota Wint of Dakota of Earth — and organised by the team behind this archive. Proceeds support cultural-preservation work in the region through The Community Garden Foundation.
Arrival and orientation in the ancient city at the heart of the Taş Tepeler world.
Regional foundations — including "Urfa Man," the oldest life-size human statue, to frame everything that follows.
The world's most famous first temple, and the carved narrative scene at Sayburç.
The beehive houses of Harran and another of the Taş Tepeler sites.
The great river and the half-sunken village of Halfeti.
The heart of the trip — the carved chambers of Karahan Tepe and the planetary cult site of Soğmatar.
The colossal royal statues of the Commagene kingdom at sunrise.
The fairy-chimney landscape and the underground city of Derinkuyu.
The capital of the Hittite Empire — the Bronze-Age bookend to the Neolithic beginning.
The expedition closes in the modern capital.
Beyond Karahan Tepe and Göbekli Tepe, the program visits:

The full program is $4,500 USD. Use code KARAHAN for a $150 courtesy rate when you book through us. Tour proceeds contribute directly to ongoing preservation work, including community support in Soğmatar.
